ASAN-UK, the American Students & Alumni Network UK, is the first national organisation connecting every American student and graduate across the United Kingdom.
Each year, thousands of US students come to the UK for world-class education, travel, and adventure, but until now, there's been no national community to bring them all together.
We exist to change that by building a welcoming, supportive, and inspiring community that celebrates the American experience in the UK and opens new doors for academic, social, and professional growth.
ASAN-UK was created with one clear purpose: to bring together every American student and alumnus studying across the UK, and to give you a genuine community, wherever you’ve landed on this side of the Atlantic.
After spending over a decade working across the United States, meeting thousands of families and students in more than 25 states, I’ve seen the enthusiasm Americans have for studying in the UK. I’ve also lived abroad myself, in Mexico & Argentina, so I understand the adventure and excitement of exploring a new culture. But I also remember the moments when you just want something familiar; something that feels like home.
Studying abroad can be transformative. The friendships, the independence, the confidence, the global perspective; these are experiences that last a lifetime. ASAN-UK exists to celebrate that journey, to help you connect with each other, and to make sure every American student has a place where they feel welcome and understood.
Whether you’re fully embracing British life or simply looking for a supportive community of fellow Americans alongside your UK experience, ASAN-UK is here for you. This is a student-led, student-driven network of Americans across the UK, a space to share stories, build friendships, support one another, and create new opportunities together.
We’re building something special: a national community bringing together Americans from London, to the Highlands of Scotland, from Belfast to Cardiff, and everywhere in between.
It was wonderful meeting so many of you at our inaugural National American Students Conference in London and I can't wait to see what we build together next.
